Our team of occupational, physical and speech therapists coordinate with your referring physician, pediatrician, case manager and employer to achieve your goals and your highest level of independent functioning.

Physical Therapy

Physical therapy is the treatment of physical dysfunction or injury by the use of therapeutic exercise to develop, maintain or restore maximum movement and function. Hitchcock Healthcare physical therapy staff has over 75 years of experience between them. Our physical therapy staff specialties include pulmonary, cardiovascular, geriatrics, neurologic, orthopedic and pediatrics.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy addresses the physical, cognitive, psychosocial, sensory and other aspects of performance. The goal of treatment is to help individuals achieve independence, meaning and satisfaction in their lives. Our therapists are trained in the latest techniques and exhibit areas of expertise in neurological disorders and sensory integration treatment.

Speech Therapy

Speech therapy is the treatment for swallowing problems and communication disorders. Depending on the nature or severity of the disorder, treatments may range from physical exercises, instructive or repetitive practice, drills and the use of audio visual aids. At Hitchcock Healthcare, our speech-language pathologists have over 35 years of combined experience.

Children's Rehabilitation

Our Children's Rehabilitation program provides individualized occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy services to children with special needs through the use of an interdisciplinary team of pediatric experienced professionals. Our team is dedicated to leading and supporting your child to advance to the highest level of independent function.

Individualized child medical conditions include, but are not limited to:

Admissions Process for Children's Rehabilitation:

  • Ages birth to 12 years
  • Must have physician prescription for each therapeutic discipline
  • Accompanied by parent or legal guardian to evaluation

Adult Outpatient Rehabilitation

Hitchcock Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy Center's Outpatient Rehabilitation Services provide a comprehensive team of experienced professionals to attend to your individualized rehabilitation needs regardless of your illness, injury or surgical needs. We also offer specialized areas of treatment for pulmonary rehabilitation and neurological rehabilitation.

Individualized adult medical conditions include but are not limited to:

  • Difficulty with balance and gait

Admissions process for outpatient rehabilitation

  • You must have a referral from your physician
  • Must be at least 12 years of age
  • You have a functional limitation that causes pain or prevents you from performing self-care, work or leisure activities

Injured Worker's Therapy

Our team of professionals has the expertise in both the medical and administrative sides of occupational health and we are dedicated to returning the employee to work as quickly and safely as possible. Our goal is to help ensure a safe and healthy workplace, and provide all necessary and appropriate care to workers with work-related injuries.
