Aiken Regional Medical Centers Receives Four Certified Zero Harm Awards for 2024

Our senior leadership and departmental leaders accepted the awards on behalf of our team during a recent visit from SCHA during our monthly management meeting
Aiken Regional Medical Centers has been honored with four Certified Zero Harm Awards for 2024 by the South Carolina Hospital Association (SCHA). These awards recognize hospitals across the state that have shown an exceptional commitment to patient safety by eliminating preventable hospital-acquired infections for an extended period, verified by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC).
Aiken Regional earned Zero Harm recognition in the following categories:
- SSI Knee Replacement
- SSI Hip Replacement
- CLABSI: Cardiac Unit
- CLABSI: Medical/Surgical Unit
The Certified Zero Harm Awards are a key part of SCHA’s statewide Zero Harm Program, launched in partnership with The Duke Endowment and The Joint Commission Center for Transforming Healthcare. The initiative continues to promote a culture of high reliability across South Carolina healthcare facilities, with support from BlueCross BlueShield® of South Carolina.
