From the CEO

Carlos MilanesWe have a new look!

Quality of Life magazine is now bigger and better than ever. We’ve expanded our content to include our popular women’s health program, Women Enlightened for Better Health (WE), as well as Senior Wellness. We hope you and your family will enjoy the convenience of having all the Aiken Regional news you need, all in one place!

Speaking of ‘better than ever,’ if you’ve suffered with the burdens of being severely overweight, today’s bariatric surgery options can offer an incredible life transformation. In this issue, you’ll learn more about these options, and whether weight-loss surgery may be right for you.

February is American Heart Month, a good time to learn about lowering your risk of having a heart attack. It may surprise you to know that ‘typical’ warning signs are often different for women than they are for men.

I’m also pleased to report that the we program has grown to more than 1,600 members! It’s gratifying to see so many women in our community making their own health a priority in their busy lives. We invite all we members to join us for WE’s Third Annual Oyster Roast on Saturday, March 1. If you’re not yet a member, you can sign up at the event. Tickets are available now!

We hope you enjoy this issue of Quality of Life. We’ll keep you informed as we continue to develop programs and services to better care for you and your family, now and in the future.
