Physicians at Palmetto Pediatric Center are well trained in infant, child and adolescent healthcare. They have a strong commitment to quality pediatric care, as well as the education of pediatric residents. Many physicians are board-certified in pediatrics, active members of the American Academy of Pediatrics and involved in continuing medical education on a weekly basis.
Pediatric residents and medical students from Georgia Regents University (GRU) also provide pediatric care at Palmetto Pediatric Center and at Aiken Regional Medical Centers, under the supervision of the faculty of the GRU Department of Pediatrics.
A medical resident is a physician who has graduated from an accredited medical school and is enrolled in a clinical training program in a medical specialty. Innovative partnerships like the coalition between Aiken Regional Medical Centers and GRU help give residents the training they need to practice in the community.
