Aiken Regional Raises the Bar For Funding Our Community

Aiken, SC (November 10, 2011) — Raising money in today's economy isn't as easy as it once was, but our communities continue to need our help. Every year, Aiken Regional Medical Centers is at the forefront for doing just that. When the United Way Campaign kicked off in September, we knew we had a challenge. 

The ARMC Ambassador Class, a group of selected individuals each year, is charged with the task of executing an internal United Way Campaign. This year's goal was a whopping $30,000.  With that in mind the class came up with a few creative fundraising ideas; a Zumbathon, Cutest Pet Contest, gathering donations from local businesses to raffle off, bake sales and much more. 

The campaign ended at the end of October with the United Way Café in the cafeteria, raffling off all of the donated gifts provided by businesses throughout Aiken. Raising 87.3% of our goal, ARMC donated over $26,000 to the United Way. The class had not only great support and participation from ARMC Associates but also the Aiken community.
