Brain Attack Teams
Great strides have recently been made in the treatment of stroke (brain attack). New drugs can now decrease or even prevent permanent disability from a stroke—if treatment is administered within a few hours of onset. That’s why Aiken Regional Medical Centers’ expert brain attack teams are specially trained to treat urgent stroke symptoms 24 hours a day. They offer advanced interventional treatment and diagnostic capabilities, complemented by a longtime tradition of responsive, compassionate care. Aiken Regional's Stroke Support Group If you—or someone in your family—is recovering from a stroke, you may feel like you are the only one trying to understand the immense changes in your life. Be assured that others have similar feelings. And now there is a safe place to share those feelings. Aiken Regional's Stroke Support Group offers survivors and family members a way to understand those changes and enrich their lives after stroke. They meet on the second Thursday of each month. If you would like more information about this group, please call 1-800-882-7445.
